Hide AdFitzsimons has been limited to just two appearances for County so far this season.
"The situation I was in at County obviously I was out of favour but the goalkeeper they brought in has done really well so I have not really had any complaints,” Fitzsimons said. “Unfortunately it is the position I have just found myself in so I am happy to be here and hopefully I can get some games under my belt.
"I want to play as many games as I can and if and when I get it hopefully I will take it with both hands and help us as much as I can."
The stopper, who came through the Crystal Palace academy before moving to Bolton Wanderers followed by loan spells at Bishop’s Stortford, Braintree and Chelmsford City, believes those experiences will help him during his time at Chesterfield.
"It gave me a good pedigree in terms of the physical side of the game,” he added.
"Of course it is going to help me for the rest of the season and hopefully I can help the team as much as I can.”
