Myers hat-trick as Tavern blast back from 5-0 down

AFC Sportsman Rovers are the new Doncaster Senior League Premier Division champions despite losing their unbeaten home record in a 2-1 defeat by South Kirkby Colliery A in midweek.

Sam Jones bagged both Colliery goals with Craig Haywood scoring the Rovers’ consolation.

Sportsman’s only rivals, Sutton Rovers, went down 5-3 at Bawtry Town to end their hopes.

Trailing 3-1, Town came back to turn the tables. Jack Burton and Steven O’Donovan both hit a double with Steven Minshall adding their other goal. Luke Chambers, Simon Roberts and Darron Smith, were the Rovers marksmen.

Bawtry continued their successful run with a 4-1 win at Yorkshire Main.

There was another brace for O’Donovan with Jamie Greenwood and Jack Burton doubling their tally. Peter Walmsley pulled one back for Main.

Adwick Park Rangers A ended a lean spell with a 4-1 victory over South Elmsall United Services.

Gary Hodgson scored twice for Rangers with Andy Kime and Scott Exley also finding the net. Ryan Hardy scored the United consolation.

A brace apiece by Glynn Wright and Jordan Harrison put South Kirkby Colliery A on the way to a 7-1 wictory over Retford Town. Gareth Davies, Jamie Axe and Ben Marley were also on target.

Swinton Station Athletic beat Maltby MW 3-0 courtesy of goals by Shane Moore, Luke Whitfield and Ben Pemberton.

Tom Clarke (2) and Joe Howey secured Kinsley Boys a 3-0 win at Rossington Main.

The FA Challenge Cup Final at Rossington Main this Friday will be a derby affair between Yorkshire Main’s Central Midlands side and Edlington Town.

Adam Watson and Brian Evans both notched hat-tricks when Main beat Sutton Rovers 7-0 in their semi-final. An own goal rounded off the their tally.

Edlington posted a 4-1 success over AFC Sportsman Rovers. Chris Dyson scored twice with Craig Dyson and Chris Colley adding a goal each. Andrew Wood replied for Rovers. A 4-3 victory at Travellers FC put Carcroft Village five points clear at the top of Division One.

Shaun Mundy found the net twice with Kieran Bridges and Alan Fawley doubling the Village tally. Craig Hobson scored all three Travellers’ goals.

A Luke Crompton goal gave Hatfield Main the 1-0 win at Bramley Sunnyside that enabled them to leapfrog into second spot.

Trailing 5-0 at Hemsworth Town, FC Tavern battled back to share the spoils 5-5.

Jamie Allen (2), Michael Humberstone, Michael Horbury and John Probert put Town into what looked to be a match-winning lead only for a hat-trick by Chris Myers, plus two goals from Geoffrey Smith to tie the scores.

Ackworth United beat Woodlands Rhinos by the odd goal in five. Lewis Osborne (2) and Callum Green were on target for United with Thomas Costello bagging a brace for the losers.

A hat-trick by Lee Carrington helped Hemsworth MW beat Adwick Park Rangers B 6-2. Lee Mulroe, Neil Pickersgill and Adam Pugh chipped in with a goal each.
