HUDDERSFIELD have completed the loan signing of Leicester midfielder Neil Danns until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old completed a two-month stint at Bristol City last week, where manager Derek McInnes was keen to keep hold of the experienced Liverpudlian. “I am delighted that we have managed to sign Neil, he is a quality player at this level. He is a strong, physical, creative midfielder who will give our midfield an added edge” boss Simon Grayson said.

“He is a highly experienced player who I believe will add to what we already have in midfield. He will also provide us with good versatility.”

Port Vale have secured the signature of striker Lee Hughes on a short-term contract until the end of the season. The deal includes a 12-month extension should the Valiants, currently second in League Two, win promotion.

Hughes, 36, had his contract at Notts County terminated by mutual consent, making him a free agent. He said: “I am very excited to join Port Vale. It is a fantastic club.”
