Matlock Town sign Sheffield United's Jerome Slew on loan

Matlock Town have signed Sheffield United striker Jerome Slew on loan for the rest of the season.

The deal was concluded earlier this week ahead of Thursday’s Evo-Stik NPL transfer deadline.

Slew (18) was on loan at Mickleover Sports earlier this season and impressed with his pace and direct running early on when Sports were defeated 2-0 at the Autoworld Arena in February.

Slew’s arrival adds to the strong link between Matlock and the Blades.

The Gladiators have had the services of goalkeeper George Willis since September and last term had defender Julian Banton, winger Otis Khan and striker Jamie McDonagh.

Slew will go straight into manager Mark Hume’s squad for Saturday’s home meeting with Skelmersdale United.
