Martin Allen's four primary objectives when it comes to friendlies
Martin Allen has a list of four primary objectives that he wants to achieve from each pre-season friendly.

The Spireites boss has overseen a comfortable 5-1 win over Sheffield FC and a 1-1 draw at Boston United thus far in the summer of 2018.
Ahead of tomorrow night’s visit to Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side Gainsborough Trinity, Allen revealed what he’s looking for from the these fixtures.
“One, you don’t want to pick up any injuries,” he said.
“Two, you want to see if players are trying to implement what we’ve been doing on the training pitch.

“Three, you want it to be a good fitness workout, to get the players back into the rhythm of playing games.
“Four, you want to win.”
Allen doesn’t believe that results don’t matter in the friendlies, he wants to come out as the victor each time.
“People can say it’s only a friendly, only this, only that but I want to win.
“That of course comes into our thinking, our mindset.
“I don’t take it as just a good run out, we don’t see it as that.”
