Lester reveals latest on injured midfielder

The ex Sheffield Wednesday man has played just once since signing for the Spireites on 1st February.

He suffered a hamstring injury on his debut against Cambridge United - his first competitive outing in two years.

And in attempting to come back from the initial knock, he damaged his Achilles.

But there’s light at the end of the tunnel, albeit at the very end of the season.

Boss Jack Lester said: “He’s coming along very well.

“He’s another one ahead of schedule and fighting to get back quite soon.

“It’ll be at least two weeks but he’s a bit like Evo, that’s what you get with these players.”

Lester praised Coke, who celebrated the arrival of a baby this week, and fellow injury victim Ian Evatt, for striving to get back into first team action.

“There’s a date the doctors and surgeons say and these players say no I’m going to be quicker than that,” he said.

“They’re both doing that and I admire their desire to put themselves in the firing line.”
