Youngsters from the Sheffield and District Junior Sunday Football League will be given tickets for January’s game against AFC Wimbledon.

The initiative comes thanks to the link-up between the Spireites-associated FBT International Academy and the junior league, which includes a number of clubs from the Chesterfield area.

And Town fans will be given the chance to express their own generosity on the day, with a bucket collection for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner said: “The tickets will be for the North Stand, helping to create a good atmosphere.

“We are keen to attract younger supporters and engage with the wider community.

“We would encourage other local junior leagues to get involved with the club in similar initiatives.”

Places in the DCJ Group Spires Restaurant will cost just £50 per person on the day, providing a three-course meal as well as a reserved padded seat in the stand.
