Joseph on way back

Joseph, a close season signing from Blackpool, has been sidelined recently through a kidney infection that had, apparently, been affecting him for some weeks.

He went into hospital for treatment only to take himself off a drip and discharge himself so that he could attend Rotherham's last home match.

Now he has been given the all-clear to start training again.

"It is excellent news that Marc is going to be back with us but we will monitor his progress," said Robins.

"We will listen to him and take care but Marc says he feels much different in himself."

Joseph did make seven appearances and then the condition was finally diagnosed and now the Millers hope to see him back to his best when he regains full fitness.

"We'll see how he goes and it could be a matter now of getting his match-fitness in," added Robins. "We all look forward to him being back and fully functioning."

Former Millers striker Martin Butler has joined Grimsby on loan from Walsall. The deal is until January with the possibility of a permanent move when the transfer window opens.

Butler, who left Millmoor at the start of last season, is set to return when Grimsby are the League Two visitors on November 3.

The club have announced the appointment of Tony Styles as their new Commercial Manager.

Styles, who has been stadium announcer for the past two seasons, said he was looking forward to building a stronger working relationship between the club and businesses in Rotherham and the surrounding area.

"It is a pivotal job within the club to generate extra income through sponsorship and additional events," he told the club website.
