The Spireites caretaker boss has said from day one that the squad is unbalanced and too big.

Pemberton has brought in goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons, right-back Jordan Cropper and striker Nathan Tyson in on loan deals until the end of the season as he felt those were the main areas that needed addressing.

So far he has been consistent in his team selection and has only tended to make enforced changes due to injuries or suspension, something he believes is vitally important to getting results.

He said: “We are trying to be consistent in the team regards of the players, not using too many players and just making the changes as and when I feel.

"Like taking a centre forward off and putting a centre forward on is an easy thing but we have not been able to do that.

"Having a right-back who plays right-back or having a goalkeeper who is the goalkeeper and not having to rely on a young kid.

“When we train we have got two good goalkeepers so the standard is higher. If you have got one good goalkeeper and one young kid the standard of training is not as high and I am being respectful to the young kids; they are not ready for it.

"So having the balance in training, which makes the session stronger, the more tempo to them, the balance to the training, helps us win matches."
