John injured, Donohue not 100 per cent for Port Vale

Chesterfield could go into Saturday's game against Port Vale without the services of two left sided players.

Declan John returned from international duty with an injury, and is receiving treatment at parent club Cardiff City.

And Dion Donohue, who has served his three game suspension, is also struggling.

Danny Wilson isn’t spending too much time wringing his hands over injury problems at this stage of the season however.

He said: “We’ll be going in with what we have. I don’t think anyone will make miraculous recoveries for the Port Vale game.

“Most clubs will find that you’re restricted in your selections, but you just get on with it.

“If you can’t control it yourself then it’s pointless worrying about it.

“Injuries, that’s part and parcel of the game.”

Donohue has picked up a hamstring injury in training and will be monitored before Port Vale visit the Proact.

“We think he might be okay for the weekend, but that’s not 100 per cent,” said Wilson.

Both John and Connor Dimaio were away on international duty at the weekend with Wales and Ireland Under 21s respectively – but only one of them has returned fit and ready for action.

Wilson added: “Conor has come back alright, Declan had a hamstring problem, he’s at Cardiff.”
