JORDAN Rhodes struck his 28th goal of the season as Huddersfield Town fought back from 2-0 down to secure a 3-2 win over Brentford.
Rhodes, who produced a quality finish five minutes after the restart to give his side the points and lift Town back into the automatic promotion places, has scored 13 goals in his last seven matches.
Brentford went ahead in the 21st minute through a penalty from Gary Alexander, who doubled his and his team’s tally eight minutes later by firing home from close range.
Town pulled a goal back through Alan Lee four minutes before half-time and then levelled in first-half stoppage time through Jamie McCombe’s looping header before Rhodes won it.
MK Dons remain three points behind Sheffield Wednesday in fifth after a 1-1 draw at Notts County while Stevenage and Carlisle remain locked together either side of the play-off places after 1-1 draws at Scunthorpe and at home to Walsall respectively.
Graham Westley’s reign as Preston boss began with a 2-0 home defeat to Leyton Orient, who won thanks to goals from Marc Laird (66) and Jimmy Smith (80).
Bury moved above the Lilywhites after securing a 3-2 win over Yeovil Town.
