Hughes quits Fulham job

Have your say

Mark Hughes last night resigned as Fulham manager after one season in charge at Craven Cottage.

The Welshman’s decision not to take up the option of a second year on his contract at Craven Cottage will fuel speculation of a move to managerless Aston Villa.

Former Manchester City boss Hughes is the bookmakers’ favourite to replace Gerard Houllier at Villa Park, although the Midlands club are believed to be interested in former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.
