Howells warning over Esher showdown

WITH leaders Northampton facing a challenging local derby at Bedford, Doncaster Knights Rugby Union Club could regain top spot in National League One.

That is the extra incentive that second-placed Knights, who lost top spot on points difference last weekend, will take into tomorrow's home game Esher at Castle Park (2.30).

But director of rugby Lynn Howells knows that his own unbeaten side face a stiff test against the Surrey-based visitors.

Howells said: ""Although they have only just been promoted they have recruited well thanks to a big sponsorship deal and they are very welll organised.

"I have watched quite a few videos of them and as you would expect having a former Premiership player and coach in Mike Schmidt, they are very well coached."

Howells makes just two changes to the line up which started in last weekend's big away win at Newbury.

Glen Kenworthy is fit again and comes back in for Sean Tomes at lock, and Ngalu Tau starts ahead of John Rawson in the front row. Tomes and Rawson are on what looks like a strong bench.

Knights: Carter, Davies, Hunt, Davey, Bishop, Woodrow, Nicoud, Bunting, Boden, Tau, Griffiths, Kenworthy, Cook, Grainger, Wilson. Bench: Plevey, Rawson, List, Tomes, Soden, Scully, Van Vuuren.
