Rotherham boss Paul Warne may be having sleepless nights about the run of fixtures coming up over the next couple of weeks.

Here, the Star takes a look at the upcoming games – which includes an eagerly-awated derby with Sheffield Wednesday – and how many points the Millers may realistically pick up in what could be a crucial period of the season for the millers, even at this early stage of the campaign.

Norwich (H)

The Millers resume with a home game against Norwich, a match that means a lot to Warne. The boss is a self-confessed fan and has been tipped as a candidate to become their next manager. The Canaries were in the Premier League last season, but have endured a tough start to this campaign, taking four points from their first four games. Still, this will be a real test for Rotherham this season and one they would be happy to take a point from.

Rotherham hate travelling to the City Ground at the best of times and have not won there since 1955. This might have been a good opportunity to put that right given Forest's terrible start to their campaign where they have lost their opening four games. But the appointment of Chris Hughton will surely make this a tougher test and the Millers' visit will represent his first home game in charge. Warne will be happy to take a point and get back up the M1.

Reading (A)

Another road trip follows for the Millers as they visit Reading, who have made a flying start to the campaign. More than a few eyebrows were raised when unknown Serbian Veljko Paunović to replace Mark Bowen in pre-season, but the Royals have hit the ground running and won their opening four games. This is a real acid test for the Millers at a stadium where they traditionally struggle, so again Warne will be happy with a point.

Sheffield Wednesday (H)

When the Millers return home they do so for arguably their biggest game of the season – the visit of Sheffield Wednesday. This will be a game where Warne really targets the three points in order to keep the cushion above Wednesday a comfortable one. Of course, the Millers don't really beat the Owls at home and have not done so in the league since the 1970s, while Wednesday have loved a last-minute goal at the New York Stadium over recent years. This will be a fascinating evening.

Stoke (A)

A month from hell is rounded off with a visit to Stoke, who are looking in good shape under Michael O'Neill. The former Northern Ireland boss looks to be the man who will have the Potters challenging at the right end of the league after they were involved in two relegation battles following their relegation from the Premier League. The Millers have fared well at Stoke over the years, though, so will be hoping to go there and pick up at least a point.
