House at home with a hat-trick

Have your say

SWINTON Station Athletic switched their Doncaster Senior League Premier Division game with Doncaster Deaf to their opponents ground after their pitch was waterlogged.

The gamble paid off as they beat the home side by the odd goal in five.

James Newton bagged a brace for Athletic with Luke Nash adding their other goal.

Gareth Denmead twice reduced the arrears for Doncaster Deaf,

A hat-trick by Dan House helped second-placed Retford Town account for Adwick Park Rangers 4-0 in one of the other few games to beat the wet weather and go ahead.

It was tight up to the interval and only a goal separating the sides.

But Town took command on the restart and scored three more without reply. Kev Metcalfe completed Town’s tally.

Bawtry Town Reserves claimed their first home scalp in Division One with a 5-3 victory over Edlington Rangers.

Roger Bows, Jack Burton, Amir Ameen, Jermain Sterling and James Dark shared out the Bawtry goals.

Gavin Smith, Ian Farrar and Stuart Clark were the Edlington marksmen.

The draw for the second round of the FA Challenge Cup has produced some tasty-looking ties.
