Parkgate went down to their biggest defeat of the season losing 5-1 at home against promotion chasing Worksop Parramore but it was a scoreline that was a little harsh on them.

The Steelmen made a bright start and might well had been 2-0 up inside the first 10 minutes. Luke Fletcher was superbly denied by Steve Hernandez then Sam Smith headed inches over.

Parramore’s took the lead against the run of play through Lee Holmes from close range, the first of his four goals.

On the stroke of half time Holmes extended the lead, knocking in a rebound after Rob Poulter had saved and he completed his hat-trick on 57 minutes before his fourth just two minutes later.

Parkgate pulled one back on 71 minutes from new signing Dave Cockerill’s penalty before Luke Fedorenko lobbed Worksop’s fifth on 86 minutes.

Staveley MW made it three wins on the spin with a 3-0 victory at Glasshoughton Welfare.

All the goals came in a five minute burst in the first half from Nathan Forbes-Swindells and two from Ryan Damms whose 23rd minute penalty set things off.

Maltby Main had a 3-0 lead going into the final 15 minutes at Arnold Town but were pegged back to 3-3.

Brian Cusworth, on debut from Parkgate, headed Maltby into a 39th minute lead. Sam Foulds’ cracker into the top corner made it 2-0 on 66 minutes before Cusworth’s second six minutes later looked to have secured the points only for Arnold to score three in the last 13 minutes.

Armthorpe Welfare hit back from 3-0 down on 57 minutes at home to bottom side Lincoln Moorlands Railway to earn a 3-3 draw.

Callum Smith reduced the arrears with a smart finish on 70 minutes.

Craig Morley headed in from a free-kick two minutes later before Paul Ashton’s close range effort four minutes from time completed the fightback.

Dinnington Town crashed 6-0 at home to Division One promotion chasers Cleethorpes Town who remain four points behind leaders Athersley Rec who won 2-0 at Rossington Main.

Kieron Scargill gave Athersley a 33rd minute lead with Jamie Sutton sealing the points 11 minutes from time.

Askern Villa lost 3-2 at home to Bottesford Town, Carl Mundy and Mick Braithwaite getting the goals. AFC Emley lost 3-1 at home to Albion Sports with Anthony Haigh scoring.
