Chris Wilder’s men went into the campiagn as one of the favourites to be relegated with some poorly-researched opinions thrown out by some pundits. However, they went on to earn rave reviews from almost everyone (we’re looking at you Garth Crooks). Here we take a look at what rival bosses had to say about the Blades.
13. Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Manchester United
"I could have changed 10 players at half-time, barring the goalkeeper, because David de Gea kept us in it. You have to earn the right to win a game of football and, for 71 minutes, we didn't earn that right." Photo: Darren Staples
14. Nuno Espirito Santo, Wolverhampton Wanderers
“I recall when we faced Sheffield United for the first time, they had just been promoted from League One. During a lot of time that year, Sheffield United was alongside us, so that shows the progression that they are making. Under Chris they play the same shape, the play with the same philosophy and they are doing fantastically wel. I truly admire them because it is a very intense team on the pitch. They know what to do. They go always with high standards." Photo: Nathan Stirk
15. Steve Bruce, Newcastle United
"I’m delighted when someone like Chris is doing so well. He’s earned his spurs in the lower divisions and finally got his chance. He’s had to take his home-town team from League One into the Premier League but he’s taken that swagger into the Premier League.” Photo: Danny Lawson
16. Daniel Farke, Norwich City
"They are very solid in their defending. When you judge what happens with the promoted team in the last 20 or 30 years, the teams are promoted by relying on good defensive structure. I'm full of respect for Chris Wilder's work. They've had a brilliant start to the season. They have been settled at the back and have been able to play with almost the same starting line-up each week.” Photo: Steven Paston
