Hatfield take the spoils

HATFIELD Town stumped Barnsley 3rds by 102 runs to retain the Solly Sports Doncaster and District Cricket League's Herbert Foster Trophy in Sunday's final.

Put into bat, Town made 217-4 in their 35 overs.

After helping to put on 37 for the first wicket, opener Andy Cutts, who went on to make a top-score 69 which included 12 fours and a six, then featured in a 74-run second-wicket stand with No 3 Malc Griffin (59).

Grififin, who smacked seven fours, shared a 99-run third-wicket stand with No 4 Chris Stothard (59).

Barnsley were all out for 115 in reply with Nick Page taking 5-27 and John Severn 3-36.
