THERE was disappointment for Hallam last night when in their first home game of the season they lost 3-0 against Knaresborough Town in what was the first league meeting between the two teams.

The hosts were a goal down on six minutes when Stephen Bromley’s cushioned header crept into the corner despite keeper Andy Coulson getting a hand to it.

Bromley doubled the lead on 69 minutes stealing in at the far post to head home from close range after a free-kick had been flicked on.

In stoppage time Bromley grabbed his and the visitors third with simple chance from 14-yards after the ball had been laid back in the middle.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic ended a run of five defeats on the spin with a 4-0 win against Eccleshill United where all the goals came in the first 45 minutes through Scott Turner, Chris White and a Lee Garside brace.

Askern Villa extended their unbeaten away run to three games with a 5-1 win at Hemsworth MW, while Athersley Recreation stretched their lead to four points at the top of Division One with a 2-0 win at Selby Town.

In the Premier Division, Retford United lost 1-0 at Tadcaster Albion.
