A deflected effort from Adam Reach in the 65th minute was enough to secure Wednesday’s place in the fourth round draw on a day when teenage debutante Osaze Urhoghide impressed at right-back for Garry Monk’s side.

However, the win was marred by a knee injury sustained by leading goalscorer Steven Fletcher who was stretchered off in agony 10 minutes after the interval.

Here’s how Wednesday fans have reacted to this afternoon’s win at the Amex Stadium.

@ManhattanOwl Honestly, had written today off. Team performance a huge bonus. Great to see midfield working as a unit (Luongo, JP & Lee linking play very effectively) and the back four looking solid again. Borner brings out the best in Iorfa. Fletch a big worry, but professional job done #swfc

@louisjpryce How did Dominic Iorfa cost less than 500k, unreal piece of business #swfc

@nickthenipper Shows how bad our current right backs are when a young un’ comes in and everyone thinks he’s next Cafu #swfc

@OldMikeBasset Don’t think any #Swfc fan expected that, so well done @swfc and hope Fletch has a quick recovery. Need to get a striker in ASAP.

@dannyswfc Clean sheet returns when Iorfa and Borner are the CBs? Imagine my shock?! Best partnership by a mile. #swfc

@danowl16 Honestly thought Brighton would do us over today, especially after last three games. Well chuffed we won! #swfc

@MattSummerhill I have to say, nobody has been more critical of Pelupessy than me and we need to sign better, but credit where it is due that was his best performance in a #swfc shirt

@garyalbertf What a difference Lee and Luongo make, them two plus Bannan in midfield against Leeds please #swfc

@Lendog1984 Give Iorfa a five-year deal and make him the highest paid as a matter of urgency please Dejphon. #swfc

@GeoffSWFC I’ve said it before but how good is Börner #DerKaiser #swfc

@BenHumberstone9 Fair play lads wrote you off early but put a right shift in
