Futsal: Sheffield FC fall to sobering home defeat

Sheffield FC suffered a 3-0 loss at home to Cambridge in the NFL Premiership North.

The hosts were dealt an early blow when conceding within the first minute from a corner.

This helped settle Cambridge and the visitors then started to create a clutch of clear chances.

Despite this, it wasn't until the 15 minute mark that Cambridge doubled their advantage.

Sheffield will be furious with themselves as they had a 3 v 2 in their favour on the halfway line, only for possession to be given away cheaply and then concede on the counter-attack.

For the start of the second half, Sheffield came out at a higher intensity and created some good chances but a lack of a killer instinct and slack defending at a free-kick truly put the game out of reach.

the third goal the stuffing was really knocked out of Sheffield and Cambridge could have rubbed salt into the wounds but seemed more concerned about keeping a clean sheet.

Shimon Peers rattled the crossbar for Sheffield before Jordan Wildey pulled off a superb save to keep the score respectable for Sheffield late on.

This Sunday Sheffield travel to Birmingham, who have lost all four outings this season.
