Didier Deschamps’ team will be content with their draw having managed to avoid playing any of the stronger nations.

Switzerland finished in third place in the group stages but have momentum after saving their best performance for last in a dominant 3-1 win over Turkey.

France are heavy favourites at 8/15 with Switzerland 6/1 to provide the shock of the Euros by winning in 90 minutes. The Swiss will take heart that Hungary managed to hold France to a draw in their group stage game and will be hoping to emulate that battling display.

Les Bleus are 2/9 to qualify for the quarter-finals with Switzerland 3/1 to find a route into the later stages.

In the outright market, France are expected to win Euro 2020 and are 4/1 to get over their heartache of losing the final to Portugal in the previous tournament. Switzerland are 100/1 in the same category.

Karim Benzema’s penalty and excellent finish against Portugal kickstarted his Euros and is 7/5 to score anytime. Kylian Mbappe is slightly ahead at 6/5. The Swiss will look to Xherdan Shaqiri after his two lovely strikes in their final group game and is placed at 5/1 to strike during this tie.

Best bets: France are 7/5 to be winning in both halves and given how Switzerland wilted against Italy, this seems likely.

Antoine Griezmann has subtly had an excellent tournament so far and the bookies are giving odds of 5/1 if he was able to score first and France win as a full time result.
