Former Chesterfield striker Armand Gnanduillet set to leave Blackpool on free transfer

Former Chesterfield striker Armand Gnanduillet is to leave Blackpool for free when his contract expires this summer.

The 28-year-old, who has scored 18 goals this season, confirmed his departure from the League One club on social media.

His contract expires on June 30.

The forward has previously been linked with a move to a number of Championship clubs including Derby County and Cardiff City.

Gnanduillet signed for the Spireites in 2013 when Paul Cook was manager.

He left in 2016 after scoring 10 goals in 82 appearances.

The Frenchman had loan spells at Tranmere Rovers, Oxford United and Stevenage while at the Blues.

After leaving Town he joined Leyton Orient before linking up with the Tangerines.

The striker, who was capped at under-20 level for the Ivory Coast, has scored 15 goals in League One this season and 18 in total

Confirming his departure from the Seasiders, he posted on Instagram: “To the fans, staff, my teammates, people who trusted in me and people who didn’t trust in me, I would like to say a massive thank you to y’all.

“Yes, during the four years playing for Blackpool it’s been a blessing, an honour and a pleasure for me and I can not thank God enough for the chance - I had to express myself under this shirt!

“Veni, vidi, vici, it’s time for me to say goodbye...all the best for the future and once again - thanks y’all!”
