Chelsea are on the verge of securing the signing of Real Madrid star Karim Benzema. Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho is looking to boost his forward line options to compliment Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao.

Liverpool continue to seek a deal for Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke, with reports suggesting the Belgian will seal his move after Brendan Rodgers’ side activated a £32.5m release clause.

Benteke’s arrival could mean the Reds’ out-of-favour forward Rickie Lambert could be on the move, with Premier League rivals West Brom sniffing.
