There will be a strong South Yorkshire presence in Monday’s League Two play-off final between Burton Albion and Fleetwood Town.
Sheffield referee Michael Naylor, who has been on The Football League’s list since the 2010/11 season, will be the man in charge at Wembley Stadium. In 34 matches across the Championship, League One and League Two this term, Naylor has dished out 87 bookings and issued only one red card.
It will be the second time Naylor, who recently officiated the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA Senior Cup final at Hillsborough, has overseen a play-off contest, having been the man in the middle for Crewe Alexandra’s first leg win over Southend United in the League Two semi-finals two years ago.
Naylor’s assistants on May 26 will be Constantine Hatzidakis and Edward Smart, with Keith Stroud taking the position of fourth official while Lee Swabey has been named the reserve assistant.
Fellow Sheffield referee Craig Pawson officiated this year’s Championship play-off semi-final second leg between Derby and Brighton.
