A number of Chesterfield fans have speculated that FBT might become involved in a takeover of Chesterfield FC, a club put up for sale by owner Dave Allen.
And while FT were sounded out about potential buyers, Mike Hegarty, CEO of the Romiro Group and the man overseeing the FBT International Football Academy, says FBT are not looking to take over the Spireites.
“FBT wouldn’t take over,” he said.
“We’ve had a number of conversations with football clubs.
“Chesterfield Football Club is one that have rung us and asked if we know potential owners.

Hegarty says he’s aware of someone who did express interest in the Spireites and he can understand why.
“It has got some assets, which is a strength,” he said.
“It’s got a stadium, when many do not.”
He revealed that FBT are planning a major announcement that will bring involvement with Football League clubs like Chesterfield.
“Within the next three to six weeks there will be a national announcement with FBT and a partner which is designed to assist Football League clubs,” he said.
