England are set to hand an international cap to a second member of the Maguire family as World Cup hero Harry’s younger brother Laurence has been called up to the Three Lions’ C squad.
The Chesterfield player looks likely to make his debut for England C in their fixture against Estonia under-23s at Leyton Orient on Wednesday.
His brother, World Cup hero and ex-Sheffield United defender Harry could also play for the Three Lions later in the week as Gareth Southgate’s squad take on Croatia in the Nations League on Friday.
Spireites defender Laurence is one of 16 under-23 non-league players to make up Paul Fairclough’s England C squad.
The 21-year-old told BBC Sport: “With Harry being away at the same time, it's a proud moment for the family for sure.
"I've spoken a bit with Harry in the past week about it and he's been great with advice and support. We're always very close when it comes to sharing each other's news when it comes to football."
Their eldest brother Joe, 27, is also a footballer for Gainsborough Trinity in the Northern Premier League.
Laurence, from Mosborough, has made 11 National League appearances for Chesterfield so far this season.
