VIDEO: Hughes praises Doncaster Rovers' effort in FA Cup

Have your say

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes felt Doncaster Rovers deserved a great deal of credit for giving his side a real test in the FA Cup.

Goals from Peter Crouch and Jonathan Walters proved enough for the Premier League side to edge past Rovers, who had equalised through Nathan Tyson.

Rovers had chances to equalise in the later stages as they pushed the Potters all the way.

"I thought it was a good cup tie," Hughes said. "I thought Doncaster played well and caused us problems.

"It's taken two good quality goals to take the tie away from them.

"They will come out of the game with credit and we thankfully are in the hat."
