A well-deserved point was secured against Huddersfield Town on Saturday but at Watford we were robbed!

James Vaughan had to acrobatically clear off his own line and a harsh decision from the ref to disallow Chris Brown’s tap in showed that, on the balance of play, no-one could have begrudged us all three points. Huddersfield, however, were more of a threat in the second half and could have snatched the spoils when they hit the bar in the dying minutes.

Some may look at a 0-0 scoreline and think that it was a dull game, but far from it.

Richie Wellens pulled the strings in midfield, Brown looked better than ever and Ross Turnbull pulled off some very important saves.

On to Watford. Up to the 87th minute I thought the officials had been brilliant, but how they could deem that James Husband’s tackle was inside the box? Even some Hornets fans told us after the game that it was never a penalty.

We certainly deserved a draw. The football we played was a credit to the club, we just need to be a bit more clinical in front of goal.

Again Brown was a star, but it was a fantastic all-round performance.

We got our first sight of Federico Macheda. He looked a bit rusty but he needs more game time.

This Saturday sees us play another local derby against Nottingham Forest. They had a good win against Barnsley on Saturday and have had a good start to the season under Billy Davies.
