Rivals warn rovers

LUTON Town have warned Doncaster Rovers they plan to exploit the first sign of fragile confidence when the two sides meet at Kenilworth Road today.

Sean O'Driscoll's side travel to Befordshire looking to bounce back from last weekend's home defeat by Walsall.

Despite their billing as promotion favourites, Rovers will kick off the match 16th in the League One table.

Luton are languishing one place below the visitors but have been beaten just once in four home matches so far this term.

And although their manager Kevin Blackwell has plenty of admiration for his opposite number, the former Sheffield United number two will not be asking his players to extend the hand of friendship.

"They (Rovers) are a good footballing side," Blackwell said.

"I know Sean likes to get them playing football when he can.

"But clearly they are a team that are struggling a bit at the moment.

"It could be a similar situation to what we had at Huddersfield last Saturday. Their manager put out a dogged side rather than a footballing side and it could be the same this weekend."

However, Blackwell is grappling with problems of his own.

A mounting injury list has eaten into his squad with midfielder David Bell the latest name to join Paul Peschisolido, Sam Parkin, Paul Underwood and Richard Langley in the treatment room.

Bell will be given every opportunity to prove his fitness after Blackwell admitted: "I've got only 19 fit players to choose from at the moment."
