Doncaster Rovers Belles continued their unbeaten run in the FA Women’s Super League with a comfortable 6-0 victory against Aston Villa in Emma Coates’ last game in charge.

Two goals feach from Kirsty Hanson and Jess Sigsworth plus efforts from Rebecca Rayner and captain Leandra Little rounded off a perfect afternoon for the hosts.

Coates, who leaves to become a specialist coach for the England Women’s U18 and U20 squads, said: ““I asked the girls for a clean sheet and three points and they’ve done it the nice way with a great performance on top so I’m thrilled.

“The fluidity and creativity is something we’ve been talking about and it’s really come together, but it’s come together through their hard work in training so I’m really pleased for them.

“It’s pleasing that we’re unbeaten, it speaks volumes that as a team we were disappointed with the two draws in recent weeks.

“I’m really happy for Jess, all forwards live on confidence. She had an early chance but that last goal you could have had the whole team in net and they wouldn’t have stopped it.

“Leaving a club that has invested and believed in me so much is always bittersweet. We’ve had a turbulent year but it’s so hard leaving the people behind, but hopefully they’ll continue to thrive in the women’s game.”
