Paul Dickov is demanding that Doncaster become harder to beat.

And he wouldn’t mind the odd win without playing well either.

Rovers’ performances have arguably merited more than the five points they had prior to today’s visit of Nottingham Forest.

Dickov says his side have already learned some key lessons.

“We were the better team against Blackpool for long periods but lost 3-1. We played well for the first half hour against Leeds but lost 3-1.

“Something we’re trying to get into the boys is that, as much as we want to win every game, if you can’t win it, don’t get beat.

“Maybe the first few weeks we were a bit naive in respect of our home form.

“We’ve addressed certain things against Huddersfield and Watford but we’ve got to take that into our home games.”

Rovers have impressed several on-lookers this season but Dickov wants points not plaudits.

“I’ve had a lot of phone calls from people I respect who were at our games on Saturday and Tuesday, giving us a lot of accolades and plaudits,” he said.

“That’s fantastic, but it’d be nice not to play well and win a game sometimes.

“We all want to play the right way, and be easy on the eye, but it’s about getting points. There’s a determination to do that this weekend.”
