DONCASTER Rovers bring down the curtain on their pre-season campaign in tonight’s game at Gainsborough Trinity.

Having brought the club’s Capital One Cup game against York City forward to Saturday since the trip to Gainsborough was arranged, Roversb boss Dean Saunders hinted that he is likely to rest some of his key players tonight.

Centre-back Rob Jones is definitely out after suffering a hamstring injury in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Barnsley and Saunders might draft in a trialist or play a member of the youth team in the back four. Trialist midfielder James Harper, who made a useful debut against the Reds, is expected to have another run-out in his bid to win himself a contract at the League One club.

Unless former Cardiff City right-back Paul Quinn, who rejected the club’s the club’s contract offer later last week after playing in two warm-up games, has had a change of heart, Saunders will need to either bring in another defender or play midfielder Paul Keegan there again.

Veteran keeper Neil Sullivan, could make his first appearance in pre-season.
