Are you winding me up?
That was Paul Dickov’s reaction last night when a rumour apparently linking Harry Forrester with Millwall was put to him.
Forrester has made a sensational start to the new campaign as he bids to make up for lost time at Rovers.
He made one and scored one in the 3-0 win at Yeovil, and then came off the bench to score a last minute winner at York in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
His early-season form has naturally prompted some supporters to fear that Doncaster may be susceptible to losing the former Brentford winger before the close of the current transfer window.
However, Dickov laughed off speculation linking the 23-year-old with the Lions at last night’s Meet The Owners event and insisted Forrester will be staying at Doncaster.
“Are you winding me up?”, said Dickov, when asked ‘if there was any truth in the rumour linking Forrester with Millwall’.
“Absolutely no truth whatsoever.
“Harry’s contracted for another couple of years and he’s so committed to doing well for this club after his injury problems last year.
“He’ll be staying - but we’re going to have to manage him a little bit. If anything he’s a little bit over-determined to make up for the time he missed last year.
“We’ll look after him,” he added.
“As I’ve said before, I believe he’ll be the best player in this division this year - and it will be with us.”
