More than 600 travelling Millers supporters headed home disappointed after Rotherham slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Northampton Town.

Northampton went ahead through Chris Hackett, who fired home an excellent effort from 20 yards to put the Millers behind with 26 minutes on the clock.

More pressure from Northampton saw Ben Harding crash an effort against the bar, before David Artell turned a Michael O’Connor cross over his own bar to give Rotherham some hope.

Ben Pringle fired in an equaliser for the Millers on 42 minutes, seeing his 18 yard effort settle in the corner.
