The 23-year-old was red-carded for an apparent elbow on full-back Barry Fuller five minutes before half time in the 2-1 defeat at Gillingham last week.

He will miss the next three games – including tomorrow’s match at his former club Shrewsbury Town – and Moore says he hopes his absence will inspire his other frontmen to give him a selection headache.

"To lose Fejiri over the next three games is a bitter loss for us, but again the likes of Devante (Cole), Niall (Ennis), James Coppinger, Kieran Sadlier, Jon Taylor have all got to step up now and look to sort of stake a claim,” he said.

“We've been working extremely hard. All the players have looked really, really fit and sharp and you know they have given me an option to select from those players in those front positions available.

“It's up to them now to step on and sort of grab the bull by the horns and stake a claim for where Fejiri would have been as we've not got him for over three weeks.

"All those players have got a great opportunity of starting this weekend, all of them.

“So we try to select the ones that we see fit to do the right job for the team and hopefully look to try and get that result.

“But all of them are chomping at the bit to start the game.”
