The Spireites boss lauded recent additions to his squad Tom Anderson, Declan John and Connor Dimaio, ahead of Tuesday’s visit of Blackpool.

Defenders Anderson and John have impressed on loan from Burnley and Cardiff respectively, while home town boy Dimaio has caught the eye in the Spireites midfield following his release by Sheffield United.

Wilson is delighted with their progress.

“They can’t give any more,” he said.

“The only thing they can’t give you is a bit of experience, but how are they going to get it? That’s by playing.

“We’ve given them a platform and then it’s up to the players.

“We can help them and coach them but ultimately it’s up to individuals.”

Although the likes of Chris Herd, Ian Evatt, Charlie Raglan and Gary Liddle have been missing through injury and suspension, Wilson’s February signings, all under the age of 23, have stepped up admirably to fill the gaps.

“The three boys have taken the opportunity fantastically well and they can only get better, the more games they have,” he said.

“If they keep performing like they have been doing they’ll be staying in the team.”

The Spireites squad who picked up three points at Gillingham on Saturday all came through the game unscathed and will be available to host Blackpool.

Herd is expected back on Saturday after a hip injury.
