Dan Walker and Chris Wilder faced off at Hallamshire Golf Club today, spending the day in the sunshine joined by Alan Shearer and Jon Newsome.

The Sheffield-based TV presenter posted a picture of the foursome on Twitter this afternoon, and said that he and Shearer had lost out to Wilder and Newsome.

Walker wrote: “Cracking game of golf in the Sheffield sunshine at @hallamshiregolf

“@alanshearer & I were 3 up after 6 but @jon_newsome & Chris Wilder came storming back to take the spoils.

Fans tweeted Walker expressing their envy that he got to spend his day in such relaxing fashion while they were at work.

And many joked about how short Alan Shearer looks in the photo, with some suggesting he must be stood in a divot while others commented on how impressive he was in the air given his apparent four foot height.

Jon Newsome tweeted about how much he enjoyed it, writing: “Had worse Tuesday afternoons...”
