John Pemberton says you can see why we wanted to sign Notts County keeper Ross Fitzsimons on loan. Well, he certainly did not make any mistakes against us on Saturday in what turned out to be an embarrassment live on TV.

Everyone’s picked the bones out of a performance that leaves us stuck in the relegation zone, with the team coming in for some harsh criticism online; and it is probably best to draw a veil over Saturday’s game and move on.

It is Wrexham next and this becomes a must win against a side who we have already played three times this season.

I think it is fair to say that it is a winnable game.

Away at the Racecourse in the reverse league fixture we won thanks to an own goal and we should have beaten them at home in the FA Cup.

Mike Fondop will be back and no doubt his old colleagues from north Wales will be out to wind him up and many Spireites will be hoping that Nathan Tyson, our loanee from Notts, will get a start, as he certainly looked a handful when he came on against Fylde.

The game starts at 1pm with probably 1,000 fans coming from Wrexham, most of whom seem to think they’ll do well to get a draw, as their manager Dean Keates will set them up not to lose.

The local Wrexham paper describe it as a dull affair and their fans were not too complimentary either.

So, the matches to come now are seven home games and six away.

We need to get maybe six wins and a few draws.

It is not impossible to stay up, but we still are a team that plays reasonably well for 45 minutes but does not play to a high standard for the full 90.

The last match is away at Dagenham it has got all the hallmarks of a do or die fixture.

Pemberton says there are no new players to come in, so let’s hope he can sort out the middle of the pitch.
