SHEFFIELD and Hallamshire County Football Association are searching for a new chief executive after James Hope-Gill resigned from the position.

Hope-Gill has been with the organisation for 20 years - 12 in the top job - and has overseen many changes, including masterminding a proposed move from their Kelham Island headquarters to a new base at the former home of Westfield School.

The Star understands that the 42-year-old is seeking a new challenge within sport in Sheffield.

A statement from Sheffield and Hallamshire thanked Hope-Gill for his ‘hard work and commitment’ and wished him well for the future.
