These tournaments are held nationally for junior girls and offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play football at Wembley Stadium for those who are successful.

The aim of these types of tournaments is to inspire children to be active and healthy, as well as building characteristics like teamwork.

Twelve teams from seven different schools across the Chesterfield area took part in the tournament and the level of football was impressive.

A majority of the schools are coached by the Community Trust so it was a delight to see how far the girls had come and witness them putting their training into practice in a competitive game.

Chesterfield Ladies players made an appearance at the tournament, refereeing games and answering questions throughout the evening.

Winners of the tournament were the hosts themselves, Dronfield Henry Fanshawe.
