THE oldest football club in the world are poised to stage a charity match in aid of Weston Park’s Teenage Cancer Unit next week.
Sheffield FC will entertain a youthful Holmesfield outfit on Monday August 8 to raise vital funds in memory of Edward Gray, who passed away in June after a six-month fight against a brain tumour.
Gray, who died at the age of 19, represented Holmesfield for five years.
All proceeds from the friendly will go towards the purpose built Cancer Unit facility, which was built in 2002 and is situated in Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield. The unit treats around 60 teenagers and young adults every year.
Admission for the fixture at the BT Local Business Stadium is £5 for adults, £3 for concessions, with kick Off 7.30pm.
