Chesterfield well aware of attacking threat carried by Bury

Chris Morgan says Chesterfield are all too aware of the attacking threat carried by today's opponents, the in-form Bury.

The Shakers sit third in the League One table and have won all of their previous four outings.

While the Spireites have prepared, yet again, for a tough physical test, Morgan says the Bury goal threat comes from a number of players.

“Flicker (David Flitcroft, Bury boss) always has his players organised and they’ve got threats in forward areas,” he said.

“People like Danny Mayor, Zeli Ismail, Tom Pope is always a handful, James Vaughan who has a wealth of experience, Hallam Hope got two goals last week at Swindon.”

Having ended Northampton’s 31-game unbeaten run last weekend, Chesterfield are hoping to put a dent in another form team’s streak.

Morgan said: “Gigg Lane is always a hard place to go but it’s those games the players relish.

“A team that’s on a run, they’re playing well, can you go and give yourself a good account of yourself?”

Two weeks ago Chesterfield kept a clean sheet at Oldham and were ‘bitterly disappointed’ to concede against the Cobblers last Saturday.

Morgan added: “To a man everyone did their job, the last two weeks. People forget what a big result Oldham was.”
