Chesterfield travel to the newly crowned Johnstone’s Paint Trophy winners on Saturday.

The Spireites are unbeaten in six games against Barnsley, a run that dates back to 2005.

Their most recent meeting was back in August at the Proact, when Chesterfield ran out 3-1 winners.

Barnsley went ahead early on, in the first League One game of the season for both sides, before Chesterfield came back through Jay O’Shea, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Sam Morsy.

Last season the two sides drew 1-1 in April at Oakwell, with O’Shea again on the scoresheet for the Spireites.

And at the Proact in November 2014, Chesterfield were victors by a 2-1 scoreline, Eoin Doyle with both goals for the hosts.

Saturday will be Danny Wilson’s first game at Oakwell in charge of Chesterfield, facing a side he both played for and managed, twice.
