Chesterfield keeper Tommy Lee has called on supporters to be ‘the 12 th man’ on the final home game of the season against Fleetwood Town.
It may be an over-used football platitude, thrown about during times of hardship and distress - but the sentiment rings true for the Spireites stopper.
“It’s a bit of a cliche but they are the 12th man and if we can fill the stadium it can only bode well for the future,” he said after praising the support in Chesterfield’s last home game against Exeter City.
Spireites will be hopeful the curtain falls on the 2013/14 season on May 3, as they target automatic promotion to League One at the second attempt.
