CHESTERFIELD can forget about their dire league position this evening.

Chesterfield face East Midlands Counties’ Premier League side Heanor Town in the Derbyshire County FA Senior Challenge Cup at the B2net (7.45pm.)

With admissions set at £5 (concessions £2,) there should be a reasonable crowd for what is likely to be a reserves side fielded by the home side.

Subs in the defeat at Wycombe on Saturday, Jack Lester, Tope Obadeyi, Jordan Bowery, Neal Trotman and Greg Fleming are expected to get a run out.

Also likely to feature are Derek Niven and Dwayne Mattis, returning from injury defender Gregor Robertson, plus French triallist Jimmy Juan.

Meanwhile, John Sheridan will talk with Swindon Town and Leon Clarke about a possible return for the nine goal striker when the transfer window opens next month. The manager said: “I’ll have a chat with Leon. I’d like to keep him if he’s interested. There will be other clubs after him.”
