Danny Whitaker was on target for the league leaders early on, after good work from Jack Lester, before David Syers equalised after 12 minutes, heading in Gareth Evans’s left-wing cross.

The Bantams were in front after 53 minutes when James Hanson fired in the visitors’ second goal, from another Evans cross.

A Bradford win looked almost certain but Bowery scored in the third minute of stoppage time.
