Spireites out to cure their travel blues

CHESTERFIELD will be looking to improve on their single-point return from away games in League Two this season when they visit Bradford City tomorrow.

John Sheridan isn't likely to tinker a great deal with his starting line up meaning Drew Talbot, ill last weekend, might have to settle for a place on the bench with on-loan Man City winger Donal McDermott set to retain a starting berth after a goal-scoring appearance against Macclesfield Town.

Phil Picken (ribs) and Jamie Lowry (hamstring) were both subbed last week but are expected to feature at Valley Parade.

Dan Gray will be on standby for Picken with Talbot the player who would deputise for six-goal leading scorer Lowry if his problem recurs.

Jack Lester bagged a goal in the 4-1 demolition of Macclesfield and will continue his strike partnership with Wade Small whilst Scott Boden and Martin Gritton will be hoping to be on the bench after both second string forwards scored in the midweek reserves friendly win at Barnsley.

Boden bagged a brace, as did wide man Darren Currie in the 6-3 win, whilst defender Danny Hall also scored. Stuart McCall's Bantams are unbeaten in six having scored 14 times in that run but have tasted home victory just once .

Indeed their nine different scorers to date have all registered their first City goals this season indicating the scale of the changes McCall has had to make after the playing budget was slashed in the summer.

They will be without Thorne, Daley and Ramsden whilst ex Saltergate hero Chris Brandon and ex-Reds striker Michael Boulding were on the bench in last week's 2-2 draw at Barnet.
