Chesterfield FC’s new commercial chief starts work at the Proact today.
Richard Nichols previously worked at the Spireites’ League One rivals Scunthorpe United.
He replaces Kevin Fitzgerald, who departed in the wake of ‘rafflegate’ when the winner of a club competition was discovered to have been faked.
Chesterfield CEO Chris Turner said Nichols came with a glowing reference from his previous club.
“I would first of all like to take this opportunity to welcome Richard to the club. In the face of very strong competition, Richard came out on top in the selection process,” said Turner.
“He had an excellent track record at Scunthorpe and my counterpart there speaks very highly of him. I am sure that he will prove to be a valuable addition to our senior management team.”
