Chesterfield’s new recruit Liam O’Neil is relishing the prospect of making his debut for the Spireites at Millwall.
The 22-year-old is in contention for the trip to the Den on Saturday following his arrival from West Bromwich Albion this week for an undisclosed fee.
And O’Neil says he wants be the type of player Chesterfield can rely on as they set their sights on emulating last season’s play-off campaign in League One.
He said: “Playing at Millwall is something I’m looking forward to, if selected, it’s the type of atmosphere I thrive in.
“There’s no room for negative thoughts in football, it’s a big game and I want to be a big game player for Chesterfield.
“I want to show what I can do in the big games. They will always be a good test for us, despite the start they’ve had.
“We want to get that consistency and that’s what’s going to see us achieve our targets and get promotion.”
